Peppermint Patties

I made these the other day just because they sounded good. Boy, did they come through! They are so good and SOOOO easy.

Peppermint Patties (from Savory Sweet Life)
5 c. powdered sugar
1 (14 oz.) can sweetened condensed milk
1 t. peppermint extract
2 c. chocolate chips
2 T. shortening (if needed)

Combine powdered sugar, sweetened condensed milk and peppermint extract. (You can do this by hand or in a mixer.) Mix until smooth. It will be stiff!!!!
I mixed mine by hand with a fork and then kneaded it to make it more smooth.
Roll into 1" balls (or whatever size you want.)
Flatten slightly.
Melt the chocolate chips and shortening together until smooth. Dip peppermint patties into the chocolate and place on waxed paper. To quicken the set-up time, place them on a cookie sheet and pop them in the freezer.
These were fun to make and totally worth it! Enjoy!

  1. Here is yet another recipe to add to my never ending list of things to make! They look delicious and who knew they are so easy to make? Those stuffed peppers look delicious too.
